The day starts with a guided tour of the 400-year-old coastal village of Shui Hau. During the tour you will discover stories about the village's traditional architecture, rituals, worshipping and ecology. Situated by the mountains, Shui Hau boasts a rich traditional culture where agricultural activity has played an important role for the villagers' livelihoods.
Make traditional Shui Hau snacks
The participants will experience making snacks with local ingredients from South Lantau and use traditional recipes for example: Zaap chi, Cha Guo and Shui Hau herbal tea. These recipes reflect the agricultural practices that have been a central part of the traditional village life in Shui Hau. The workshop will be instructed by local villagers and uses recipes handed down from previous generations.
The event only accepts participants over 12 years old.
The registration will close on the last Wednesday preceding the event. Please be advised that the available seats may be filled prior to the registration deadline.
